Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between an anonymous user and a verified user?

An anonymous user is someone who can log into OneChat anonymously. In this mode, users are unable to save their profile, purchase Shouts, or apply filters of any kind.

A verified user is someone who logs into OneChat using their mobile number & unique one-time verification code. A verified user has the ability to save a profile, filter out anonymous chatter, filter by #hashtag, purchase Shouts, and directly block other users.

What features are available when verified?

  • Save a profile

  • Filter out anonymous chatter

  • filter by #hashtag

  • purchase Shouts

  • filter out other users by blocking them

What is a Shout?

A Shout is a 100 character banner message that sits at the top of the main OneChat screen. A Shout is a digital good that is consumed once payment to purchase a Shout has been completed. The Shout is persisted until another one is purchased by anyone on the platform, or at 00:00GMT the following day, whichever comes first.

What are Lists?

Lists are ways to keep track of users who are special to you. Currently, we only support a Blocked list so that the most special people you don’t want to engage with can be removed from your feed with a swipe and a tap.

Where can I report bad behavior?

Block that user and then email support@onechatapp.com if it becomes a problem.

Are Shouts and other purchasable digital goods refundable?

All sales are final since they are immediately used or made available upon purchase.
